Welcome to YouTube Karaoke

YouTube Karaoke is a collection of flash music videos and lyrics. As the name implies a lot of our original content came from YouTube. Unfortunately, due to Google's increasing censorship of YouTube, we now have to get our content from a variety of different places. The idea is that you press play, scroll to the lyrics, sing and be merry. Alcohol and audience are optional! To request a video email us (see sidebar).
Some of the sharper members of our audience have noticed that if you scroll and sing you lose sight of the video. If this bugs you that much feel free to just enjoy the videos instead of scrolling!

Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty

Blurb:
"Baker Street" is a song by Gerry Rafferty written in 1978 during his break from the band Stealers Wheel. The song was featured on his second solo album City to City and released as the first of three singles, marketed primarily to Adult Contemporary radio. The saxophone hook on the original was played by Raphael Ravenscroft. The guitar solo was played by Hugh Burns.

The song was featured in The Simpsons episode "Lisa's Sax", with Lisa Simpson playing the familiar saxophone solo at the end of the show. It was also featured in the pilot episode of the Comedy Central series Stella. Rafferty's original version (more precisely, the opening riff, before any lyrics are sung) is also used as the theme music of The Dave Ramsey Show, a well-known American personal finance talk radio show. Gerry Rafferty's version of the song is also featured on the soundtrack of the 1997 Gus Van Sant film Good Will Hunting.

Scroll and Sing:
Winding your way down on Baker Street
Light in your head, and dead on your feet
Well another crazy day
You drink the night away
And forget about everything
This city desert makes you feel so cold,
It's got so many people but it's got no soul
And it's taken you so long to find out you were wrong
When you thought it held everything

You used to think that it was so easy
You used to say that it was so easy
But you're tryin', you're tryin' now
Another year and then you'd be happy
Just one more year and then you'd be happy
But you're cryin', you're cryin' now

Way down the street there's a light in his place
He opens the door
He's got that look on his face
And he asks you where you've been
You tell him who you've seen
And you talk about anything

He's got this dream about buyin' some land
He's gonna give up the booze and the one night stands
And then he'll settle down
It's a quiet little town
And forget about everything
But you know he'll always keep movin'
You know he's never gonna stop movin'
'Cause he's rollin'
He's the rolling stone

And when you wake up it's a new mornin'
The sun is shining it's a new mornin'
And you're going, you're going home
