YouTube Karaoke is a collection of flash music videos and lyrics. As the name implies a lot of our original content came from YouTube. Unfortunately, due to Google's increasing censorship of YouTube, we now have to get our content from a variety of different places. The idea is that you press play, scroll to the lyrics, sing and be merry. Alcohol and audience are optional! To request a video email us (see sidebar).
Some of the sharper members of our audience have noticed that if you scroll and sing you lose sight of the video. If this bugs you that much feel free to just enjoy the videos instead of scrolling!

Young At Heart - The Bluebells

Blurb:
"Young at Heart" is the title of a popular song recorded in the 1980s by the British female singing trio Bananarama and later reworked heavily by the Scottish pop group The Bluebells. Co-written by guitarist and founder member Bobby Bluebell (real name Robert Hodgens) and his then-girlfriend Siobhan Fahey, it was first recorded by Fahey with the girl group Bananarama and appeared on their debut album Deep Sea Skiving in 1983.

The Bluebells version is very different from the original in that the melody is significantly altered and has a completely new chorus. This went on to become a UK top 10 chart success on two occasions, first reaching number 8 in the UK Singles Chart on its original release in 1984.

Almost a decade later, after The Bluebells had disbanded, the song was re-released as a single in 1993 after being featured in a TV advert on British television for the Volkswagen Golf. It became a number one hit for four weeks, leading to the band reforming temporarily to perform the song on BBC Television's Top of the Pops, where they sent up the unexpected re-release by parodying various other famous acts of the time such as Shabba Ranks and 2 Unlimited.
